Cafe Deco features some of the most amazing views over Hong Kong from its stylish, contemporary restaurant.
Sitting on the top of Victoria Peak, Café Deco offers delicious food and wine with stunning views over Hong Kong and the Harbour below. Café DecoCafé Deco was opened in 1994 and is currently the biggest restaurant on Victoria Peak with over 15000 square feet of air conditioned dining. Arranged over 2 floors it has indoor and outdoor seating which can accommodate up to 600 diners and features a beautiful spiral staircase to link the 2 levels. The views from anywhere in the building are stunning however the upstairs dining room has perhaps the best with its floor to ceiling windows giving un obscured views over the Hong Kong skyline. Café Deco also has an open kitchen so that diners can see the chefs at work as they prepare the food, adding to the buzzing, lively atmosphere. There are also lots of promotions and events held at the Café, such as it’s regular Sunday Champagne Brunch buffet from $498 HKD per adult (aroud $65 USD). The Café is open 365 days a year, from 1130 am to midnight Monday to Thursday, 1130 am to 1am Friday and Saturday and from 0930 am to midnight on Sundays. Food and DrinkThe choice of food and drink at Café Deco is wide and varied and has something to suit everybody. The options range from Italian style pizzas prepared in the Café’s Italian built pizza oven to Asian curry dishes and the huge fresh oyster bar which offers oysters from New Zealand, the USA, Australia and Ireland. To wash your meal down they also serve an eclectic mix of wines from around the world as well as beers, spirits and soft drinks. Desserts are well catered for here too with a large range of ice creams, sundaes, hot and cold dishes and even chocolate fondue prepared with Lindt chocolate. The Peak TramThe most interesting way to reach the café is via the Peak Tram which has carried passengers from Hong Kong up to the Peak since 1888. On it’s opening day the tram took 600 people up the steep 1350 metres and has continued to grow ever since. The tram was last overhauled in 1989 and today features a comfortable carriage with bench seats which takes only a few minutes to reach the top, giving amazing views of Hong Kong as it climbs at such a steep angle that at times the skyscrapers seem to be leaning right over. The tram operates from 7am to midnight Monday to Sunday with return tickets costing $33 HKD (around $5 USD). Cafe Deco can be found at Level 1-2 Peak Galleria, 118 Peak Road, The Peak, Hong Kong. They accept reservations via telephone and can be contacted on + 852 2849 5111.
